02Hook & reel plan — decide the opening before polishing

Start here: add media, choose the message, then generate a short opening hook. With several clips, drag thumbnails to set the story order or use the automatic reel tools.

A strong opening should communicate the idea immediately. The tool never invents reviews, statistics or guarantees.

03Frame for the platform

The app frames the crop around where the action is. If it misses, drag the video to reframe, or press Auto-frame to let it try again. Fit-with-blur shows the whole shot padded with a soft blur instead of cropping.

Tap a preset to apply it to the current clip; × deletes it. Presets are remembered next time you open the app.

Type each caption line, set when it appears, or write all lines and press auto-time to spread them across the clip. Captions sit at the bottom, inside the safe zone, so they never collide with your title at the top.

07Smart tools — private, local and free

Caption workflow

For dependable captions without API cost, paste the voice-over or import an SRT/VTT file in the Captions step. Browser speech recognition was removed because availability, privacy and accuracy vary by browser.

Find the best moment private · on-device

Scans the whole clip for where the most action happens and sets your trim to the strongest segment — ideal for cutting a long recording down to a Reel.

Silence on-device

Reads the clip's audio, trims silent air off the start and end, and can skip long silent gaps in the middle while exporting.

Best thumbnail on-device

Scans the clip for the sharpest, best-lit frames and offers the top three — tap one to save it as a JPG cover image (great for YouTube custom thumbnails).

08Sound — applies to all exports

Music volume40%

Use only audio covered by a suitable commercial licence or a platform library that permits your intended use. ReadyReel records the confirmation locally; it does not validate licences.

Exports render in real time (a 60s clip ≈ 60s per format). Keep this tab in the foreground while rendering. Files save to Downloads (desktop) or Files/Downloads (phone) — share to any app from there.

Cheat sheet

Reels / Stories / Shorts — 9:16, under 90s, communicate the hook in the opening seconds.
Instagram & Facebook feed — 4:5 takes the most screen space; 1:1 is the safe cross-platform choice.
LinkedIn — 1:1 or 16:9; most viewers watch muted, so captions matter more than sound.
YouTube — 16:9 for standard uploads, 9:16 for Shorts.
Keep faces and action inside the safe-zone guides — the amber dashed box on the preview.
